Holy Week services slated at LCPC
Easter worshipers at La Cañada Presbyterian Church will have six different services from which to choose, including traditional and contemporary services offered simultaneously at 9:25 a.m. and 11 a.m. The services will culminate a full schedule of Holy Week offerings at the church.
Easter Sunday, April 5, will begin with a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. at Hahamongna Watershed Park. Attendees will be able to worship, celebrate the resurrection and participate in communion in a service led by the LCPC Youth Ministry Team. Everyone is invited to dress casually and bring a blanket to sit on.
A worship service will be offered in the church Sanctuary at 7:55 a.m., featuring the Chancel Choir and Orchestra. At 9:25 a.m. and at 11 a.m., services will be presented simultaneously — traditional worship with choir and orchestra in the Sanctuary, contemporary worship with the Praise Band in the Worship Arts Center. At 9:25 a.m., there will also be family-friendly overflow seating in the Family Life Center, with refreshments.
At 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, the church will offer a Maundy Thursday communion service to commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus Christ. At 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday, April 3, the drama “Were You There?” will be presented by the LCPC Drama Ministry and Praise Band.
On Holy Saturday, April 4, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Cook Prayer Chapel, a meditative service will offer attendees an opportunity to listen and consider the “in-between” and “not-yet” moments of life.
