Apple's iPhone is great for watching TV shows that you downloaded on your computer and loaded onto the device. But since the iPhone can't play Flash-based Web videos, there aren't that many ways to stream full episodes of popular TV shows for free. Here are some ways to do it.
1. To watch full episodes of popular NBC shows such as " 30 Rock," "The Office" and " Heroes," visit m.nbc.com on your iPhone and click on "Video" and then "Full Episodes." Once you select a show to watch, click on the first part to watch it.
2. Download the free "Joost" app from the iPhone app store to watch full episodes of TV shows and movies. Much of the programming on here is obscure, or from other countries, but you can watch classic shows such as "The Lone Ranger" and "Star Trek" or other shows such as "Punk'd." There doesn't appear to be a way to browse through full episodes of shows.
3.Download the free "TV.com" app from the iPhone app store to watch full episodes of shows from CBS including " How I Met Your Mother," " Jericho," "NCIS," and " Survivor." You can also watch full episodes of classic shows such as " Beverly Hills, 90210," "Family Ties," "Twin Peaks" and "The Love Boat." You can browse through full episodes of shows.
4.To watch popular shows from the CW including " Gossip Girl," " 90210, " Smallville" and others, visit iphone.cwtv.com on your iPhone browser. When you click on "Video," you can search for full episodes of particular shows.
5. With the exception of Joost, which requires a Wi-Fi connection, all of the following methods will work best with a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. If you are riding in a car or train, the quality of the video may fluctuate, depending on your connection speed. With all of these options, you can tilt your phone to watch the video in landscape mode.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
