Zema, a western cougar yawns at Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge, on Monday, February 4, 2013. Zema was born in 1997. He was bought in the illegal wildlife trade, and kept as a pet in South Carolina. He was confiscated by law enforcement, and held as evidence in a federal investigation of interstate trafficking and transportation of wild animals. He arrived in Back to Nature in 1998.
