You'd expect some creative dressing in a roomful of artists, and that's what we got at OMA Thursday evening. Case in point: writer Budha Ji and his casual take on nautical. Love the way his turquoise sneakers echo the blues in his trim-fitting shirt. Also artist Maggie Sharar, whose mix of mainstream and offbeat elements is fun, funky and decidedly personal. Who: Budha Ji, writer, and Maggie Sharar, artist, from Orlando. What she's wearing: Gap dress, Dooney & Bourke handbag, Avalon rings, thrift-shop belt, slouch beret picked up on a recent visit to Seattle, and $8 Thriftko cowboy boots. Her style: Country indie. I wear a lot of boots, plaids, braided belts. Lots of of color. Lots of accessories. What he's wearing: Paul Smith saliboat-print shirt and jeans, Fred Perry turquoise sneakers. His dreds, he says, are "home-grown." His style: Urban contemporary. Wardrobe essential: My umbrella. Especially on a stormy night like this.
