Space Mountain, Magic Kingdom

The granddaddy of the Disney World coasters was born in 1975, making it the oldest coaster in Florida. It continues to please in an almost-quaint Tomorrowland way. The darkness enhances most of the thrills. Your party launches single-file into a twisted mass of two strategically lit rails. Other cars swoosh by with glow-in-the-dark accessories against a "starry" roof. It's not that fast, but it's curiously fun. (NOTE: Space Mountain will close April 19 for renovations and reopen later in 2009.)
