The Oakland A's, led by their famed Bash Brothers duo of Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire, won the 1989 World Series over the San Francsico Giants in 4 games. But that series was forever overshadowed by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the Bay Area moments before the start of Game 3 on Oct. 17. The quake resulted in the deaths of 67 people, caused nearly $7 billion in damage and left 12,000 homeless. The Series was delayed for 10 days, with the A's winning Game 4 on Oct. 28.
