Amway Center was named Sports Facility of the Year at the Sports Business Awards in Manhattan on Wednesday night.

Amway Center, which is the home of the Orlando Magic and the Orlando Predators, opened in Oct. 2010.

“We are extremely honored and humbled that Amway Center has been named as the best sports facility in the nation for 2012,” said Magic CEO Alex Martins. “The judges have recognized that the facility has been designed and operated with the patron in mind first.”

The three other finalists were:

• Livestrong Sporting Park, a soccer-specific stadium in Kansas City, Kan.
• The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, which is located in New Orleans
• and Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The awards were sponsored by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily.
