The candidates for Orange County mayor will debate next week on WOFL-Channel 35.
County Commissioner Pete Clarke, Sheriff Jerry Demings and businessman Rob Panepinto debate the key issues in a live telecast from the Orlando Repertory Theater in Orlando.
The hour program airs at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, on the Fox-owned station. It also will steam on the websites of WOFL and the Orlando Sentinel, which has a content-sharing agreement with the station.
The moderators will be WOFL anchor Ryan Elijah, Orlando Sentinel columnist George Diaz and Thomas Chatmon, executive director of the Orlando Downtown Development Board/Community Development Agency.
The vote will be Aug. 28. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff on Nov. 6.
The program is called “Fox 35 News Special: Florida Decides: The Race for Orange County Mayor.”
With WOFL, the other debate sponsors are the Sentinel, the University of Central Florida and the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce.
