Video: Orlando Magic help beautify complex

Orlando Sentinel

Grabbing their rakes, shovels and work gloves, Orlando Magic’s President Alex Martins, General Manager Otis Smith and head coach Stan Van Gundy lead the rest of their 180 member staff in stripping decades of old park benches, decaying foliage and  chipping paint from the grounds of the Downtown Recreation Complex and Nap Ford Community School. As part of the their continuing Magic Volunteer Program, Magic employees joined together to help renovate the grounds in the Parramore neighborhood near the old Amway Arena. Children from the school jumped in to help dig holes, spread mulch and plant new flowers and shrubs throughout the property. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy say the beautification project “ lets the people of this community, and really the entire city and Central Florida area, know that the Magic’s concerned about this city and about this community and we’ll try to help in any way we can. “
