Golden Globes 2018: Complete list of nominees

Max Staver

Max Staver, QB, Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy Ht:  6-5  Wt:  238  Class: 2013 Recruiting Buzz: The Gators had hoped junior college transfer Tanner McEvoy would come in and become Jeff Driskel¿s back-up next season. But McEvoy¿s committed to Wisconsin on Monday to leave the race wide open. Even so, Staver would be a real longshot among an inexperienced group. Other than Driskel, redshirt junior Tyler Murphy, who has appeared in only three games and never thrown a pass, and 2012 signee Skyler Mornhinweg are the only Gators¿ quarterbacks on scholarship. Based on rankings, Staver is the lowest-rated player in Florida¿s 2013 class and the nation¿s 36th-rated quarterback. But Staver is a natural thrower with good size and a lot of upside as a pocket passer at the college level. Staver threw for 38 touchdowns the past two seasons, including 18 as a senior, when he also threw for 1,937 yards.
