Watch what one homeless man does with $100

When one YouTube personality gave a homeless man $100, he didn't have high hopes.

In a video that has since gone viral, Josh Paler Lin explains his plan to give a homeless man the money and then see what he does with it, according to The Associated Press.

The man, identified only as Thomas, gets teary eyed as he repeatedly thanks Lin. Lin walks away, but follows Thomas with a hidden camera.

Lin is disappointed when he sees Thomas head for a liquor store and exit with several bags in hand. Lin and his crew follow Thomas to a park where he approaches other homeless people and gives them plates of food he purchased.

Lin approaches Thomas in the middle of his kind deed and offers him an additional $100. Now thanks to the widespread popularity of the video, Lin was able to start an IndieGoGo campaign to help Thomas get back on his feet. So far, more than $60,000 has been raised.

Of course, as is the case with anything on the Internet, there is some skepticism circulating with the video. Since almost all of Lin's other videos are pranks, some wonder if the whole thing was staged, like the "Drunk Girl in Public" video that went viral earlier this year before it was exposed as a hoax.

In any case, you can see the whole video here and decide for yourself or read more on this story by The Associated Press at WTHR.com.
