34th senator endorses Iran nuclear deal, almost ensuring landmark Obama victory

Sergeant Wesley Richard Whitmore, Jr.

A Polk County Sheriff's Office sergeant died December 12, 2010 after an out-of-control sports utility vehicle struck his patrol car and then propelled the vehicle into the law-enforcement officer as he stood nearby. Whitmore, 60, became a detention deputy with the Polk County Sheriff's Office in 1995, and then transferred to deputy sheriff in 1998. He was promoted to sergeant in 2008.
