My Take

The Knicks (6-6) are one of the league's biggest disappointments. Even with

Jason Richardson

(left knee) likely out, the Magic (8-3) should win this game if New York's

Carmelo Anthony

does not play because of a sprained right ankle and sprained left wrist. The frontcourt of Anthony,

Amar'e Stoudemire

and

Tyson Chandler

has great potential, but New York is severely hamstrung by its point guards.

Mike Bibby

is too slow and too much of a defensive liability to get it done, and

Baron Davis

is out with a

herniated disc

and has limitations of his own.

Dwight vs.

Dwight Howard

is the game's top defender at any position, but Chandler arguably is the game's second-best defender at the center position. Chandler is averaging 10.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Marquee matchup

Magic PG

Jameer Nelson

vs. Warriors PG Mike Bibby. Nelson dominated Bibby when Bibby was with the

Atlanta Hawks

. Now, the Magic need Nelson to upgrade his game and do the same today.

3 Knicks facts

1. The Knicks went 1-1 against the Magic at the Garden last season, with both games being played after Anthony was acquired via trade.

2. This is the New York's 13th consecutive season playing on the

Martin Luther King Jr.

holiday.

3. Anthony is averaging 25.5 points per game.
