Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez insists he attempted to avoid all the summertime talk that he was being shopped to the Orlando Magic as part of a potential Dwight Howard trade.
But Friday’s game in Orlando still will be a bit strange for him because good friend Ryan Anderson no longer is with the Magic.
Lopez and Anderson were rookie teammates with the New Jersey Nets during the 2008-09 season.
“That’s my guy,” Lopez said of Anderson.
“It is bizarre, but he is doing well out in New Orleans and enjoying his time out there, and my brother [Robin Lopez] is out there as well. So I’ve been checking in on him a little bit.”
