Here's hoping everyone who took my smart phone Christmas challenge had a wonderful distraction-free day.
I went ALL day without my phone. I caught a couple of our dinner guests sneaking a check, but I didn't have to take any drastic measures like withholding their slice of key lime pie or tasking them with putting together the 3,000-piece Lego set that Santa thought would be such a great idea.
If folks took anything out of this challenge, I hope it's that we all need a periodic break -- even if just a brief one -- from our constant connectivity.
Had to share with you this photo from a reader. Mirtha Martin of Lake Mary sent in this fun "Holiday House for Electronics" that she fashioned from a cardboard house. What a fun way to get into the spirit of celebrating hands-free. Plus I think she could be on to something ... She could market these things. Best wishes all, for a Happy New Year! (You can use your smart-phone all you want on that day -- just remember to take a breather every now and then in 2013.)
