Potter's Radcliffe goes back to the trenches for All Quiet on the Western Front

novel, and the film of it, a stolid, brooding affair that collected Oscar honors back in the day.

's son, who went to war to prove Dad's idea of the glories of men in combat causing his father no end of grief and regret.

Variety reports Radcliffe will begin filming this after he revives How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway, sometime in 2012.
