Lance Armstrong, cyclist: Despite his repeated denials, Armstrong is coming clean (perhaps for the first time in his career) by admitting he used performance-enhancing drugs to help game the system and win seven Tour de France titles. He was a false prophet to all those cancer survivors who embraced him as a beacon of hope. He trashed anyone who dare suggest he was a cheat. He made millions of dollars in endorsements and such off the Big Lie.
