Montgomery picked USF over Maryland and UCF, which was one of his leaders until the Knights let go of his primary recruiter, wide receivers coach
Montgomery posted a photo of himself wearing a USF hat on his
page two weeks. At the time he said there wasn’t anything to read into the picture, other than he just found the hat while cleaning up his room. However, he said that USF was his favorite along with Maryland, a school he visited last month.
Montgomery had planned to wait until the Offense-Defense All-American Game on Dec. 29 in Dallas, to announce his choice but has decided to end the suspense.
Ranked as the No. 4 prospect on the Orlando Sentinel's 2012 Super60 list, Montgomery burst onto the recruiting scene last summer with a dominant performance at USF's Sling & Shoot. The Bulls' coaching staff awarded Montgomery (6-3, 215) with his first scholarship offer, something Montgomery never forgot.
