Florida Gators coaching staff will play host to a large gathering of high school football prospects today for the annual Orange and Blue Debut spring game at the Swamp (Sun Sports, 1 p.m.).
One of the more anticipated recent Gator recruits has been Orlando Timber Creek sophomore-to-be RB Jacques Patrick, who transferred from Orlando East River following his freshman season. Patrick will be in attendance today.
He's a big 6-foot-2, 200-pound runner with speed and he rushed for more than 1,000 yards as a freshman last year. Patrick is high on the Gators 2015 board.
The top uncommitted running back in the state from the Class of 2013 Ryan Green (5-10, 195) of St. Petersburg Catholic will be at The Swamp. Green is ranked No. 21 in the Sentinel's 2013 Florida Top 100 and is the fourth-best running back on the list.
Ahead of Green are Derrick Henry of Yulee (Georgia), Greg Bryant of Delray Beach American Heritage (Oklahoma) and Kelvin Taylor of Belle Glade Glades Day (Florida). Adam Lane of Winter Haven is also committed to Florida and he is the fifth-rated running back in the state.
