Knights hope to make impression on Tampa area star WRs Alvin Bailey of Armwood and Richard Benjamin of Tampa Bay Tech

Thunder and Lightning will be visiting Orlando on Friday.

No, we’re not talking about the storm system that has decided to hover over Central Florida for the past two days. But there will be two other visitors with that moniker.

UCF is expecting unofficial visits from Tampa Bay Tech WR Richard Benjamin and Seffner Armwood WR Alvin Bailey on Friday. Thunder and Lightning is what UCF’s coaching staff has dubbed the duo.

Bailey — Lightning — was on campus last Saturday for UCF’s 7-on-7 tournament. Benjamin — Thunder — was supposed to come by too, but could not find a ride, so he will try again.

Benjamin said via text message that Bailey, his close friend, will be joining him.

Both players are high priorities for the Knights. Bailey (5-10, 175) is listed as a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com and Benjamin (6-1, 190) is ranked three-stars.

Bailey, a jack of all trades who played receiver, quarterback and running back, ran for 872 yards and six touchdowns last season, while also throwing for 875 yards and 12 scores. He also managed to haul in 22 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns.

Benjamin, who transferred from Tampa Middleton this offseason, had 58 receptions for 501 yards and 450 yards on the ground in 2011.
