Rock band Whitesnake has been added to Silver Springs concert lineup, and that will be the final performance before the Ocala-area attraction is handed over to the state in October.
Whitesnake, known for hits such as "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love," will be on stage at Silver Springs on Aug. 3.
The park will receive a $4 million makeover that will include the removal of its exotic animals and amusements rides. The annual concert series and trademark glass-bottom boats are set to stay.
This year's concert series includes Easton Corbin (Feb. 23), Joe Diffie and Sammy Kershaw (March 2), Creedence Clearwater Revisited (March 9), Jamey Johnson (March 23), Joan Jett (April 13), Night Ranger and Kansas (May 25), Josh Turner (June 15), KC and the Sunshine Band (July 4) and Whitesnake (Aug. 3).
Silver Springs currently offers an All-Access Concert Season Pass, which includes admission to the park and Wild Waters water park, concerts, free parking and free tickets for friends through Sept. 30. The price is $59.99. The park also offers half-price admission to Florida residents on days that aren't concerts or other events. It's available at the gate with proof of residency. The normal ticket price is $34.99 ($26.99 for ages 3-10).
