The 2012-13 season officially begins in August with "Nunsense," winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Off-Broadway Musical. A local-theater staple, "Nunsense" tells the story of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who discover their cook has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters. They then put on a variety show to raise funds for their burials.
"Pete 'n' Keely" tells the story of a former duo who reunite for a television special. The only problem: They haven't spoken to each other in five years, following a big breakup. The show features hit songs "Fever," "Black Coffee," "Besame Mucho" and others.

Winter Park Playhouse artistic director Roy Alan, musical director Chris Leavy and Todd Allen Long have created "Steppin' Out With Irving Berlin," a tribute to the iconic composer. The song-and-dance show will honor the life and career of Berlin, known for songs such as "Puttin' on the Ritz," "Steppin' Out With My Baby" and, of course, "White Christmas."
Another tribute show, "My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra," is an ode to "Ol' Blue Eyes," as Sinatra was known.
The season will close with "The Kids Left, the Dog Dies, Now What?" The musical takes a comedic look at a host of midlife-crisis points including AARP membership, divorce, dating and plastic surgery.
The Winter Park Playhouse is at 711-C Orange Ave., Winter Park.
