Holiday Art Market brings affordable, unique gifts to North Park
Tired of Black Friday emails and month-long sales pitches? For those looking to go beyond the 5 a.m. doorbusters for something unique (and local) the Holiday Art Market, provides the perfect respite from seasonal madness.
Head away from the hustle and bustle of malls to North Park during Small Business Saturday, on Nov. 25 to find a bit of creativity. The Holiday Art Market event is part of the Shop Small movement which honors local businesses around the country. The annual Holiday Art Market, held at The Studio Door, celebrates the works of artists who participated in exhibitions throughout the year. As a tribute to local patrons, both emerging and well-established professional artists offer a variety of pieces, including paintings, pottery, small sculpture, craft, and home decor, all priced under $500.
The vibrant event also includes artists getting creative out on the streets, meeting with patrons and performing live painting for the enjoyment of adults and kids alike. Look for the popular pieces of this year’s glass artists, always a perfect gift for coworkers, friends, and family.
As owner and director Patric Stillman noted, “It may seem like just another long list of special shopping offers the week of Thanksgiving, but it really is much more than that. When you shop in the neighborhood, you are supporting local businesses, and in our case local artists. It’s the small businesses that engage in innovation and help to give local neighborhoods a stronger sense of livability.”
The Studio Door will open at 10 a.m. on Nov. 25 and will be serving hot apple cider to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
