KAABOO: Top acts to see Sunday

3 p.m., Trestles stage: This bluesy guy is a must-see at KAABOO, in my eyes. He blends old school rock and roll with blues and grass-roots, folk music seamlessly. The musician is typically seen performing as a one-man show, but will likely be coming to this concert with a full band. The 29-year-old self described “Texas gentleman” on his Twitter page, provides a unique, refreshing Americana sound that transcends age groups. Watching him perform will have your foot-a-tapping, no doubt. - Liz Bowen

Jason Isbell

3:30 p.m., Sunset Cliffs stage: If Bruce Springsteen had a 37-year-old son who specialized in Americana music, his name would probably be Jason Isbell. The Boss,, coincidentally, singled Isbell out for praise in a 2014 interview. No doubt, that’s because he recognized a kindred spirit in Isbell, who cites Springsteen’s solo albums “Nebraska” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad” as key inspirations. A former member of Drive-By Truckers, Isbell specializes in no-nonsense songs that combine earthy music and literate lyrics about life’s hardest-learned lessons. - George Varga

Cold War Kids

6 p.m., Trestles stage: For over a decade, the Cold War Kids have remained one of the few indie bands to sustain and thrive over time. With five albums under their belt, the five guys from Long Beach have seen mainstream success with singles such as “Hang Me Up To Dry” and “First” and credit the likes of Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley as musical influences. Their most recent album, “Hold My Home” was released on Oct. 21, 2014. - Michelle Dederko

Cheech & Chong

6:30 p.m., Humor Me stage: It took a while, but stoner culture has become ubiquitous and boring. And with California Proposition 64 on the ballot in just a few weeks, it’s likely to become even more so. But long before it was completely mainstream, Richard “Cheech” Martin and Tommy Chong were the de facto ambassadors of weed and drug subculture. Whether through their classic comedy albums or films, the Grammy-winning duo gave audiences a hilarious and uncensored view of getting high. After many years apart, the pair have spent the last eight of them touring and working together. This is your chance to catch a pair of true comedy originals. - Scott McDonald
