The Killers confirm ‘Wonderful’ 2018 tour dates

The Killers will promote their upcoming fifth album, “Wonderful Wonderful,” with an 18-city North American tour early next year.

The new dates, which follow the band’s previously announced fall tour, will begin with a Jan. 5 concert in Toronto and conclude Feb. 6 in Salt Lake City.

The itinerary includes two California shows - Jan. 30 at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center and Feb. 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. All of the new tour dates appear below, along with ticket information.

The Killers’ last “full tour” was in 2013. The band performed in San Diego in 2015 as part of the first KAABOO Del Mar festival. Its guitarist, North County resident Dave Keuning, discussed the band in a pre-KAABOO interview with the Union-Tribune.

This will be The Killers’ first major concert trek since bassist Mark Stoermer announced last year that he will no longer tour with the band. However. he is featured on the new album.

Stoermer’s position for the upcoming tour by The Killers will be filled by Jake Blanton, who has previously collaborated with Beck, Michelle Branch and Amos Lee (who performs a Bayside Summer Nights concert Aug. 25 with the San Diego Symphony).

The Killers announced their new tour dates late Thursday night, along with the track listing for “Wonderful Wonderful,” due out Sept. 22 on Island Records. The songs on the album are as follows:

Tickets for the 2018 tour dates go on sale to the general public Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. local time. A pre-sale for the band’s fan club members will take place first.

The Killers’ Jan. 30 San Diego concert appears on the Valley View Casino Center website. However, as of this writing, ticket prices have not yet been announced.
