Fresh from its fiery Sunday night Grammy Awards performance with Lady Gaga, Metallica has announced its 2017 North American tour.

Entitled the WorldWired tour, the extensive concert trek opens May 10 in Baltimore and concludes Aug 16 in Edmonton, Canada. It includes an Aug. 6 show at San Diego’s Petco Park. That venue has previously hosted performances by the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Taylor Swift and Aerosmith, but never before by a heavy-metal band.

All dates and cities for the tour appear below.

Every ticket for the tour bought through official outlets will include your choice of a CD or digital copy of the new Metallica album, “Hardwired...To Self-Destruct.”

Tickets for members of the band’s fan club go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday and at 11 a.m. Tuesday for Citi card members. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. A variety if VIP packages also will be available.

Tickets for the San Diego show will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800.745.3000 and, presumably, at the Petco Park box office.

For previous concerts at the stadium, San Diego Padres season ticket holders have had the opportunity to buy advance tickets before the general public. It is not yet known if that will be the case for the Metallica show at Petco.
