2.23-25: Cookies On Tap
Grab a flight of beer paired specially with Girl Scout cookies at Mike Hess Brewing, AleSmith or Stone Brewing. If one isn’t enough, each brewery’s designated locations will have its own unique pairings. The breweries purchase 100% of the cookies used for the event as well as donates a portaion of every flight sold to the Girl Scouts of San Diego in this official event.

2.24: The Original Carnaval at Novo Brazil
With a name like Novo Brazil, it’s only appropriate to throw a big, traditional Brazillian Carnaval. For two years running, the event brings specialty beers, live entertainment, samba dancers and Brazilian food to one place in the South Bay. Note: Ticket sales end 24 hours before event and will be available on first-come basis for $10 at the door.

2.24: San Diego Beer Chase
This 50-mile relay race consists of 12 legs of varying distances with each leg kicking off at a different brewery (with participants getting a sample of beer at each) starting at Mason Ale Works in San Marcos and traveling south along the course to downtown San Diego. At the end will be a finish-line party in the Maker’s Quarter that will have brews flowing from multiple breweries.

2.24: Carnival of Caffeination
Two of San Diego’s major craft worlds collide when coffee meets beer at Modern Times’ second annual Carnival of Caffeination. Expect an array of dark, coffee-centric and barrel-aged beers, as well as other coffee creations from local roasters. Profits from the event go to BikeSD, a nonprofit helping make San Diego a better place to ride.

2.23-25: 61st Yonex Dave Freeman Classic Open
Badminton. Yes, badminton. This isn’t your backyard garden party variety of badminton though. More than 300 players will take to the courts to launch birdies over 100 mph back and forth over the net before crowning a winner.
