The Historical Society of Harford County has two Christmas events happening this month at the society's headquarters in downtown
The society's popular Model Train Show is running Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. through Dec. 16.
Admission to the train show is $4 for adults, $2 for children and free for children under 4.
It's one of at least three train gardens on display locally during the holiday season.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the historical society will be holding its annual greens sale and open house from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Freshly made live Christmas table and mantle arrangements, cut greens swags and other items will be available for purchase.
The society's gift shop will also be open during the train show and greens sale. Additional shop hours are Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.

The Historical Society of Harford County is at 143 N. Main St. in Bel Air in the historic Old Bel Air Post Office Building. There is parking available on the street and behind the building in the society's lot.
Other train gardens
In the Bel Air Town Center next to Liberatore's is the Mason Dixon Large Scale Railroad Society's 2012 Christmas display.
The annual free display, which depicts holiday scenes, an Amish community and other scenes, is open Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The display runs through Jan. 6.

Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company's 31st annual train garden, also free to view, is open through Jan. 13 at the fire station, 3825
The display is open to the public 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, except Saturday, Dec. 8, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The garden is also open New Year's Eve, a Monday, 6:30 to 9 p.m. and New Year's Day, 1 to 9 p.m.
