Shortstop Anthony Caronia had a big night at the plate for the IronBirds, going 4-for-4 with a triple, a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored. Aberdeen leadoff man Anthony Vega was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, while Sam Kimmel went 2-for-3 with a team-high three runs scored.
Aberdeen starter Cameron Coffey (1-4) earned his first win of the season, going five innings in which he struck out four, walked one and allowed one earned run on five hits.
Sander Beck closed out the game for Aberdeen with four innings of shutout relief, striking out five, walking two and holding the Yankees to a pair of hits along the way.
