Dishing up free Sunday lunches for Christ Church of the Deaf's members is a tradition in our area. Four United Methodist Church cooking crews rotate duty every month, each providing tasty fare at 1 p.m., 1040 S. Evening Bible school for ages 3-12 is a tradition at Violetville United Methodist Church that continues Aug. 10-12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 3648 Coolidge Ave. Lively lessons, games, crafts, treats, music and an ice cream party are included in one $5 fee.
