The SAC United Premier U-13 Girls won their second tournament in as many weekends. They followed up a victory in the August Cup by capturing the top divisional championship at the OBGC Capital Cup in Olney.

The SAC girls were undefeated in the tournament, registering wins in bracket play against Baltimore Bays Chelsea and DC Stoddert Metro-Blue, to go along with a scoreless draw against Loudoun Red 99.

In the Labor Day final, after a scoreless first half, SAC countered with a tough, gritty second half to capture the championship game, 2-0, against Parkville Premier SC Thunder.

The girls registered six goals across the four games played. Kiersten Moore and Tessa Walsh contributed the scoring, supported by strong midfield play and assists from Camryn Anderson, Brittney Bennett, Katie Cardea, Kelli Dunagan, Emily Hauk, Sammi Salter, Bethany Stewart and Carly Wetzel.

Leah Simmons, Hannah Bergquist and goalkeeper Sarah Hauk — along with Hannah Glaros, Julia Schmidt and Krista Whelan — paced a dominant, physically tenacious defense which registered four straight shutouts.

The girls begin their league play in WAGS Division 1 on Sept. 8.
