Chapelgate Christian Academy is holding boys basketball camps July 30-Aug. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Chapelgate Christian Academy, 2600 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville. This camp is for boys ages 12-17.
A second camp, for boys ages 10-13, will be held Aug. 6-10 from 9 a.m.-noon at the First Baptist Church, 15000 First Baptist Lane, Laurel.

The county rec department is accepting team registration for its fall adult basketball leagues. Play begins the week of Sept. 13. The Central Maryland Soccer Association is registering teams for the fall season which begins Sept. 8-9. The league is open to all USSA-affiliated school, recreation and club-level travel teams. The Central Maryland Soccer Association is sponsoring the following youth tournaments this fall: The Carroll County Challenge Cup (Aug. 18-19), the Columbus Classic (Oct. 6-7) and the Thanksgiving Soccer Classic (Nov. 24-25). All events offer separate boys and girls competitions for ages 8 through 18 with 8v8 competition for age 8 through 12; and 11v11 competition for ages 12 through 18. The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting team registration for its fall adult softball leagues and its fall 50+ adult softball leagues. Space is limited; register by July 20.
The adult softball leagues include men's D, women's, co-rec D and REC civisions.
