'Giselle' goes 3-D
Two local movie houses are giving audiences a chance to sample the world's first 3-D ballet on Tuesday, July 12. The Regal Snowden Square 14 at the Columbia Mall and the Cinemark Egyptian 24 in Hanover at the Arundel Mills Mall will be among the select 160 movie theaters nationwide offering two screenings of "Giselle in 3-D," recorded via RealD 3-D technology at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.
An initial screening at 12 noon on July 12 will be followed by a second performance at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at participating theater box offices and on line at http://www.FathomEvents.com.
"Giselle In 3-D" is intended to "capture the beauty and movement of a world-class performance in a new and multi-dimensional way, offering cinema audiences the 'best seat in the house'," reads the advance release.

The Howard County Arts Council, in conjunction with the county tourism board and the public school system, is hosting a "Paint It!
The completed works will be judged by a panel of artists, and will be presented to the public at a reception and awards ceremony Mon., July 11, 6-8 p.m., at the Howard County Center for the Arts.
