Farmers and Merchants Bank, headquartered in Upperco, announced the hiring of Edward Fulton as mortgage specialist, at its new branch in Westminster. Fulton's expertise is various types of mortgage banking: reverse, refinance or new construction.
He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1977, served as football team captain and was an all-American football player.
A former professional football player for eight years, Fulton is a member of Habitat for Humanity, the Terrapin Club and has coached high school football in the area for the past 10 years, at North Carroll, Liberty and Westminster high schools.
Five Smooth Stones, a modern rock band from the Hereford Zone, announced the release of their second full-length recording, "Beneath The Finite Sky," featuring 11 songs written over a period of more than two years.
The band was IndieHeaven.com's Featured Artist for a week in July and the new album was selected as the site's current New Indie Tuesday feature.
