American Cruise Lines has announced it will return to Havre de Grace again this year, as its American Glory is scheduled to make port stops in the city during May and early June.
According to American Cruise Lines, the American Glory offers discerning travelers a unique and modern style of small ship cruising.
Each unique and off-the-beaten path port visited, gives guests a glimpse into the cultural heritage that is the fabric of our great nation. The country-club atmosphere onboard allows guests to relax, and enjoy the company of fellow travelers who share their interests in American history and culture.
Originally the cruise line called the C&D Canal a port-of-call. Three years ago they were warmly welcomed to Havre de Grace when the canal was being dredged and since then have continued to stop in the city.
"It is exciting to see the arrival of this ship, and I look forward to it each year," Brigitte Peters, marketing and tourism manager for the city, said in a news release. "We have also given familiarization tours to organizations wishing to book for 2013. A great partnership has been formed with the city and American Cruise Lines."
The arrivals are on Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings in May. Residents and visitors can enjoy the sight of the ships' arrival along the Promenade.
