Rodgers Forge students celebrate annual Generations Day
The 11th annual Generation's Day event will be held at Rodgers Forge Elementary School on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 8:50 to 10: a.m. for students in grades one, four and five, and from 10 to 11:10 a.m. for children in kindergarten and grades two and three.
During the celebration, hundreds of grandparents and "special senior friends" will attend come to the school for the annual fete. Guests will be asked to participate in activities designed to allow students and their guests to look into the future of education and reflect upon their past school experiences.
Save-A-Limb ride, walk and festival at Oregon Ridge
Baltimore County Public Schools will participate in the Oct. 22 Save-A-Limb ride, walk and festival benefiting the Save-A-Limb Fund at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
The festival, designed to promote fitness and healthy habits, will feature scenic bike rides of a "metric century" of 100 kilometers (62 miles), 30 miles, 15 miles and 6 miles.
In addition, the event will include a picnic, a fitness fair, and carnival. BCPS Superintendent
Celebrity riders will be visiting the festival as well; among those scheduled to attend are five-time Olympian and veteran Tour de France rider
The festival will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oregon Ridge Park, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville.
County offering online payment option for school meals
Baltimore County Public Schools has launched an online service that allows parents to prepay for students' school meals using their credit or debit cards.
The program is a partnership between BCPS and MyLunchMoney (www.mylunchmoney.com). The school system began sending out detailed information about MyLunchMoney this week.
