Jackie Foster remains on ‘The Voice’

Poway High grad Jackie Foster survived the first elimination round of the TV talent show “The Voice” on Monday night and has a new coach.

Foster, selected in the blind auditions by Kelly Clarkson, was paired with D.R. King, another team member for a “battle round” competition. While Clarkson selected the other singer to advance, the three remaining coaches attempted to “steal” Foster for their teams. Ultimately, she selected to join Adam Levine’s team.

Foster, who now lives in Boston, will fly to San Diego to sing the national anthem at the opening game of the San Diego Padres on March 29.
