Will Centoni from Hollister, Calif., was the 38th annual Ramona Rodeo’s All-around Cowboy. Centoni placed first in bull riding and fourth in saddle-bronc riding to earn $2,666 in prize money.

Total payoff was $52,899, with rodeo presenters Ramona Outdoor Community Center contributing $4,250 in purse money to each of the eight events.

Chris Anderson, co-chair of the three-day Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo, called it the smoothest running in Ramona Rodeo’s history. She attributed it to the fact that all of the volunteers on the Rodeo Committee worked well together.

“This group of people we have are so wonderful to work with,” she said.

Rodeo Co-Chair Joani Georgeson estimated attendance at 10,360.

“Off the chart this year,” said Georgeson. “I can not boast and brag enough about our wonderful ‘small’ group of volunteers that all pulled together to make it the most phenomenal ‘effortless looking’ rodeo EVER!

“I can go on and on and on. In fact, everyone did so good, that this was the first year that on Sunday I was able to watch the entire rodeo from start to finish! Man do we put on a SHOW! and what about the new video board? That was the cherry on the top! Loved, loved, loved this year's rodeo.”

Committee member Martha Luce “knocked it out of the park” when she got 9 minutes of CBS local and national coverage as well as other regional media coverage, noted Anderson.
