A Ramona man was seriously injured after his 2016 Yamaha Scooter crashed near Third and D streets Thursday evening, California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow said.

The man was transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido following the collision that occurred about 5:50 p.m.

Garrow said the incident is being investigated as a possible driving under the influence case.

The motorcyclist was eastbound on D Street and went off the road after making a turning movement, Garrow said. No other vehicles were involved. CHP and Ramona Fire Department responded and remained on the scene for 90 minutes to document evidence.
