Taylor Kitsch

To some (yours truly included), Kitsch is the incomparable Tim Riggins on NBC's brilliant "Friday Night Lights." To others, he's the guy on the side in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "The Bang Bang Club" and "Snakes on a Plane." In 2012, Kitsch gets the lead roles he deserves with "John Carter" and "Battleship," which doesn't appear to have much to do with the board game on which it's based. Besides for, uh, the presence of boats.
