9:30 p.m. Aug. 20, MTV Based on the popular British series of the same name, this MTV remake has the same basic premise: Four uncool guys barely surviving the day-to-day humiliations of high school. MTV failed with its Brit-peat of "Skins," but this adaptation could fare better: "Arrested Development" and "My Name Is Earl" vet Brad Copeland adapted it, while Taika Waititi of "Flight of the Conchords" directed the pilot. I loved the original, which spawned a film that will (thankfully) open this fall in the U.S. I'll check the MTV version out in hopes it becomes another little gem like "Awkward."
