WHAT WE SAID: One of the lone bright spots from a dismal 2012 Cubs season, the first baseman enters his sophomore season with the potential to duplicate a pretty powerful ability to bring in runs and hit the long ball. NOW WE KNOW: Meh. Although some of the numbers were there (23 HRs, 40 doubles, 80 RBIs), they're offset by a poor batting average (.233) and a lack of signature moments and overall excitement. VERDICT: Miss
