Doctor Who will do battle with a seasonal foe in "The Snowmen" on Christmas night, BBC America said on Friday as it revealed the title of this year's "Doctor Who" holiday special. In "The Snowmen," the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his new companion named Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) fight to save Christmas from Doctor Simeon (Richard E Grant) and his army of snowmen in the "movie-scale episode." Note that Coleman is not playing Oswin, the character she played in "Asylum of the Daleks." At least that's what she and Smith claim in on the the clips below. But I wouldn't be surprised if head writer/exec producer Steven Moffat is pulling some kind of sleight of hand on us. Anyway, the holiday episode premieres at 8 p.m. CT Dec. 25 on BBC America. Below you'll find a sneak peek of the episode that aired on the BBC today during a broadcast of the "BBC Children in Need" special, plus photos that show a new look for the Time Lord. I've also added a special prequel webisode that shows how the loss of the Ponds still troubles the Doctor. His old friends Vastra, Strax and Jenny try to persuade him not to give up his adventures. (You'll notice the intro to the clips shows Smith sporting a new haircut as well.) Curt Wagner, RedEye's Show Patrol 1st look photo Geek To Me The Snowmen Hellos, goodbyes Want more?
