( November 1, 2012 ) Yes, Denzel Washington is strong as a pilot whose addictions make him anything but a faultless hero. Yet the movie goes nowhere new in its portrait of alcoholism or drug addiction, and the cheap ending serves as cop out to any potentially sticky moral questions. Plus: The script does not adequately emphasize key relationships and incorporates one character (played by Kelly Reilly) whose introduction, incorporation and dismissal couldn't be more contrived. |
