Homer casts his vote in new short for 'The Simpsons'

Fox and "The Simpsons" are doing their part to get the vote out. Well, maybe.

A new "Simpsons" video short hits on such issues as voter-ID laws, health care and outsourcing. In the clip, doughnut-loving Homer heads to the polls to vote for either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney.

"Why do we have to choose our leaders?" he says. "Isn't that what we have the Supreme Court for?"

Like many voters, Homer doesn't seem completely pleased with his options.

"He promised me death panels and Grandpa's still alive!" he gripes about the president. He also brings up Romney's elusive tax records and his "magic underpants."

He finally casts his vote--for Mitt Romney, who invented Obamacare--and instantly regrets his choice.

What do you think of the new short? "The Simpsons" premiere at 7 p.m. CT Sept. 30, and just because Homer's experience at the polls is so frightening, Fox included a shout-out about this year's "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween special, which will air at 7 p.m. Oct. 7.
