Humboldt Park recorded homicides on three consecutive days in the past week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
On Monday, a 36-year-old woman was shot to death in the 3300 block of West North Avenue, police said. One day earlier, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the 1100 block of North Keystone Avenue, according to officials. On Saturday, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, police said.
Humboldt Park has recorded 15 homicides so far this year, RedEye data shows. The West Side community area logged 22 homicides last year.
Citywide, gunshot homicides were recorded in the last week in Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Greater Grand Crossing, the Near West Side, South Chicago, Uptown, Roseland, West Pullman and Woodlawn, RedEye determined.
Thirty-seven homicides have been recorded so far in October. Forty-eight homicides were logged in October 2011, according to RedEye data.
