It can't be easy for an actor to step into a guest-starring role on a TV show, mixing it up with a cast that's been working together for weeks or even months.
That wasn't an issue with Justin Long, who reprises his role of Paul Gunslinger on the
comedy "New Girl" in "Bad in Bed," airing at 8 p.m. Dec. 6.
"The thing about Justin; we love him to death," cast member Lamorne Morris told me. "He came in and he brought that new energy to the set; it was absolutely incredible."
Chicago native Morris plays Winston, who lives with Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) in the hit freshman series.
Morris said Long fit right in with the cast, impressing improv veteran Morris with his ad-libs.
"He improvises with the best of them," Morris said. "He'll come into a scene and then five minutes later you realize he's never said his line. It's like, 'What are we talking about?' It's so all over the place, but it's hilarious."
In "Bad in Bed," the guys try to advise Jess on how she and her boyfriend Paul should take their relationship to the next level. If you think the couple had awkward scenes in the Thanksgiving episode, wait until you see what happens when the subject of sex comes up.
