9 p.m. Sept. 22, NBC Cast: Cast: Aidan Quinn (from left), Damon Gupton, Tim Griffin, Maria Bello, Kirk Acevedo and Brian F. O'Byrne. Also co-starring Kenny Johnson and Peter Gerety. Premise: Would it be offensive to say that executive producer Alexandra Cunningham and star Maria Bello have balls? They've taken on a thankless task of reinventing the classic British series "Prime Suspect," in which Helen Mirren won acclaim and two Emmys playing troubled detective Jane Tennison. Bello brings the badass as Det. Jane Timoney, who fights for respect from the cliquish male colleagues who think she slept her way into the homicide division. Prognosis: The sexism Jane suffered in the original pilot felt quite dated. Thankfully, that was toned down, and now "The Beef Trust" seems to dislike her mostly because they don't think she earned her spot on the team and, well, no one likes to be proven wrong. It's a thrill watching Bello do it, though.
