8 p.m. Sept. 22, CBS Cast: Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel, Taraji P. Henson Premise: After 9/11, billionaire Finch (Emerson) created a high-tech surveillance program for the government that listens in on conversations and flags suspicious behaviors. Now believed to be dead, Finch has created a virtual back door into the program that gives him only the Social Security numbers of people who may end up committing or being the victims of future crimes. He can't tell when or where they will happen, so he hires Reese (Caviezal), a CIA agent-turned drunk, to figure out and prevent the crimes. Prognosis: The thriller is based on a screenplay by J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher), so that's a good sign. But don't think this is going to be another "Lost." We won't learn Finch's secrets right away, but I'm guessing CBS will demand the main crimes be solved in single episodes. I'll watch for Emerson.
