How long have you worked there? Helping to open the venue (3335 N. Halsted St.), where he will serve, create the wine list and music playlist. "Getting to interact with different styles of people and getting to customize your service to each person that comes in. It's part of the excitement. I have a strong connection with the people in my neighborhood, and Wood is the type of restaurant that's lacking in the neighborhood. It provides an outlet for people to eat and not break the bank." What's your most memorable story/experience on the job? "Alinea was a super progressive restaurant so we would play with all kinds of techniques that people weren't expecting. We created this edible balloon filled with helium and place it in front of the guest. We tell them to suck out and then speak. Seeing all these people laughing is the funniest thing. Going back to school. "I have money from the army to go, but I've become so intoxicated with serving. I love the sales aspect and interaction with people, so I find a reason every spring when it's time to register for classes to put it off another year. However, I will like to go into graphic design with a focus in the advertising industry." What's a fun fact about you, regarding your work as a server or otherwise: "I was in the army for five years. I'm an Iraq vet. Coming out of high school, I didn't have any direction and serving in the military provided me with that."
